5. SMS Messaging

a) Clients can opt-in to receive communications from our law office. All communications maintain attorney-client privilege and are never shared with anyone not working directly on your case. We will use SMS to send and respond to inquiries regarding your case and you can use it to send us documents, in addition to or instead of our client portal.

Practical Tip

Choosing an attorney to represent you is an important but daunting task. The decision certainly should not be made on the basis of advertising alone. The Yellow Pages and internet are filled with ads--all of which say basically the same thing. You should not hire based solely on advertising--anyone can buy a slick commercial or a slick website.

b) You can cancel the SMS service at any time. Just text “STOP” to the short code. After you send the SMS message “STOP” to us, we will send you an SMS message to confirm that you have been unsubscribed. After this, you will no longer receive SMS messages from us. If you want to join again, you’ll have to send us permission in writing (an email is fine or you can even text us) and we will start sending SMS messages to you again.

c) If you are experiencing issues with the messaging program you can reply with the keyword HELP for more assistance, or you can get help directly at by calling us.

d) Carriers are not liable for delayed or undelivered messages

e) As always, message and data rates may apply for any messages sent to you from us and to us from you. You will receive messages only occasionally. If you have any questions about your text plan or data plan, it is best to contact your wireless provider.
