Recent crash fatalities in Austin


One person was killed early Monday in a crash involving an 18-wheeler and a vehicle in Southeast Austin, Austin-Travis County EMS medics said. Medics at 2:07 a.m. responded to the westbound lanes of the 7200 block of Texas 71, near Montopolis Drive.

The person was pronounced dead at the scene, medics said.


A person was killed Sunday night after a collision in the southbound lanes of MoPac Boulevard (Loop 1), Austin-Travis County EMS medics said. Medics at 7:58 p.m. responded to the 1700 block of the highway, just north of Enfield Road.

At 8:17 p.m., medics reported that CPR was in progress on one person involved in the collision.

The person was pronounced dead after extensive efforts to resuscitate them, medics said at 8:46 p.m.
