Driver charged in hit-and-run death of woman in Hays County

A man has been charged in connection with the death of a 67-year-old woman after Buda police said he struck her with his truck and drove away on Saturday.

Buda police said officers responded to the H-E-B at 15300 Interstate 35 near Main Street in Buda to reports of a hit and run. Officers said a woman was struck in the middle of the crosswalk by a man, identified by police as 58-yearold Jeffery Conzemius, driving a gray


Silverado. Witnesses said he fled from the scene and headed south on the frontage road. He was later stopped by Kyle police and arrested.

The woman was taken to Seton Hays Medical Center, where she died of her injuries.

Conzemius was charged with accident involving death and remained in the Hays

County Jail on Tuesday with bail set at $60,000.
